The National Football League has wrapped up Week 14 of the season. The playoff picture is crazy, and will be even more crazy as the season goes along. Let’s take a look at the updated playoff picture in the National Football League following Week 14.
AFC:
- Baltimore Ravens — With an overtime win, the Ravens are still tied with Miami for the top of the AFC, with 10 wins.
- Miami Dolphins – What a horrible loss on Monday Night Football to the Chiefs. Now, Miami has to be a little nervous about what will come up over the next four weeks.
- Kansas City Chiefs — The Chiefs fell at home to the Bills in Week 14, and now sit just a game ahead of the Broncos. It’s likely Patrick Mahomes will have to play a road game to get back to the Super Bowl.
- Jacksonville Jaguars – Losers of two straight games, but still a game ahead of the Colts and Texans in the AFC South. The Jaguars
- Cleveland Browns – Joe Flacco has come in and steadied the ship, pushing the Browns to 8-5, a game ahead of the pack in the wildcard chase.
- Pittsburgh Steelers – One of the six teams at 7-6. Currently holding the top tiebreaker spot with the best win percentage in common games. No more time to mess around for the Steelers.
- Indianapolis Colts – The Colts hold the 7th seed based on win percentage in conference games. The Colts are coming off a loss, so will need to bounce back quickly on Saturday.
On the outside looking in:
- Houston Texans — The Texans are the nex team in line waiting. This weekend will be a big weekend for games between the 7-6 teams, and Houston is looking to take advantage of that.
- Denver Broncos — The Broncos picked up a big win over the Chargers, and moved to 7-6. Not only are the Broncos chasing the wildcard spot, but sit just a game behind Kansas City in the divisional race.
- Cincinnati Bengals — Jake Browning madness. Cincinnati has won two in a row to move to 7-6.
- Buffalo Bills — The win in Kansas City was mandatory. The schedule remains tough for the 7-6 Bills.
NFC:
- San Francisco 49ers — With five straight wins, and some help, the 49ers have taken over the top spot in the NFC.
- Dallas Cowboys — The big win over Philadelphia pushed them to 10-3. The Cowboys remaining schedule is brutal, so it will be interesting how they fare.
- Detroit Lions — Detroit fell at Chicago on Sunday, but still sit two games up in the NFC North. Two meetings with the Vikings coming up will be a test for a Detroit team limping a little as of late.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers — The win over Atlanta pushed Tampa to 6-7, and in a three way tie for the NFC South. The Buccaneers currently hold the three way tiebreaker.
- Philadelphia Eagles — Losers of two straight games, the Eagles are not ready to panic just yet. Philadelphia has seen a brutal stretch of games that will start to ease up. The Eagles still have a good shot at the NFC East title.
- Minnesota Vikings — Minnesota beat the Raiders 3-0 to grab their 7th win of the season, and remain ahead of the pack of 6 win teams below them.
- Green Bay Packers — The Packers lost on Monday Night Football to fall to 6-7, and now are in a tie with four other teams with six wins.
Just Missing:
- Los Angeles Rams — It was a brutal loss to Baltimore in overtime. At 6-7, the Rams are still alive, but will need to start a new streak.
- Seattle Seahawks — Seattle has dropped four straight games. Drew Lock is in at quarterback, and with two losses to the Rams on their resume, things are not looking good.
- Atlanta Falcons — The Falcons went from the 4th seed to the 10th seed with the loss to Tampa Bay.
- New Orleans Saints — The Saints are 11th, but tied for 4th. The NFC South is going to be interesting over the final weeks.
That makes 22 teams for 14 spots in the National Football League. Once the Week 15 games play out, the picture will likely change. Enjoy the madness, and best of luck with all your NFL betting. Enjoy the games!
