The St. Louis Cardinals will host the Chicago Cubs on Sunday night in Busch Stadium. This game will wrap up the three game series between the longtime rivals. The Cardinals will be trying to avoid the sweep after seeing the Cubs pound their way to victory in the first two games of this series.
The St. Louis Cardinals appeared to be a real threat to the Cubs this season, but injuries have been a major problem for them. The Cubs got off to a slow start again this year, but appear to be hitting their stride. Both teams are trying to stay in the National League Central division race. The Chicago Cubs are -119 over the Cardinals in the series finale.

Heyward Powers Cubs Past Cards
Jason Heyward has struggled in his three years as a Cub, but has had a great past month and is showing no signs of slowing down. On Saturday, Heyward was able to catch up to a Jordan Hicks fastball and deposit it in the bleachers for a two run homer. The home run wound up being the difference in the Cubs 6-3 victory.
The Cubs rank second in all of baseball in team batting average, and they feature a lineup of solid, disciplined hitters. Albert Almora Jr. has found himself at the top of the Cubs lineup most of the time, and has done a great job of setting the table for the offensive stars. Almora is hitting a robust .321 so far in 2018. The Cubs will need to continue to score runs to catch the Brewers in the Central Division.
Cardinals Bullpen Falters in Loss
The Cardinals bullpen has struggled all season long, and they cost them another game on Saturday night. Rookie Jordan Hicks was the one responsible for giving up the runs in game two of the series. The hard throwing Hicks was unable to get a fastball past Jason Heyward and he deposited a two run homer into the bleachers. The Cardinals bullpen wound up giving up 3 runs in the game two loss.
Marcell Ozuna appears to be getting hot for the Cardinals. Ozuna was a top free agent signing by the Cardinals in the offseason, and they need him to be their leader on offense. Ozuna has homered in back to back games this series against the Cubs. The Cardinals will need consistent production from Ozuna to stay in the Central Division race.
Cubs Stay Hot, Beat Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals need to find a way to win the series finale against the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs have come into St. Louis and have crushed the ball all weekend long. The Cardinals have a very capable offense, but need their players to step up to deliver some runs. Look for the series finale to be a high scoring affair, but the Cubs just have too much firepower for the Cardinals. Bet the Chicago Cubs -119 over the Cardinals on Sunday night.
