The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics will continue their Eastern Conference Final playoff series after a lengthy delay. The series now shifts to Cleveland for games 3 and 4. The Celtics lead the series 2-0 after blowing out the Cavaliers in the first two games of this series.
The Cavaliers were the favorites heading into this series, but the Cavaliers looked lost and confused against the Celtics in Boston. Brad Stevens has his Celtic team playing terrific team basketball and are hoping to push the Cavaliers to the brink of elimination in game 3. Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue must find a combination of players who will compete and play together in game 3. The Celtics are +6.5 against the Cavaliers on Saturday night.

LeBron Can’t Do It Alone
LeBron James has done his best to lead the Cavaliers in this series, but it hasn’t been enough. James had a modest game 1, but recorded a triple double in game 2 and finished the game with a whopping 42 points. LeBron has been able to lift his Cavs teammates over both the Pacers and Raptors, but it is clear that he can’t defeat the Celtics by himself.
The supporting cast of the Cavaliers must show up in Cleveland if the Cavs are going to get back into this series. Kevin Love and JR Smith are the two main players that LeBron relies on to have his back. If Love and Smith can play at a high level in game 3, the Cavaliers should get their first win of the series.
Boston Keeps Attacking the Cavs
The Celtics began this playoff series by scoring 36 points in the first quarter of game 1, and have not stopped attacking the Cavaliers since. Boston trailed at halftime of game 2, but blew out the Cavaliers in the second half. The Celtics have incredible depth and coach Stevens has shown his ability to put all of his players in a position to succeed.
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been the offensive stars for the Celtics in these playoffs. The young Celtics stars are a matchup problem for the veteran Cavs and they have continued to attack slower defenders. The Celtics knew that their future looked bright, but it appears that the young stars are ready for their moment now.
Cleveland Responds, Wins Game 3 – but Celtics cover Spread.
The Celtics must now show that they can win key playoff games on the road, something that they have struggled with in these playoffs. The Cleveland crowd will be fired up, and Boston must show composure in a tough environment in game 3. Brad Stevens will have his team ready to compete again.
LeBron has been in this position before, and he knows that a series isn’t over after two games. The Cavaliers might not be able to come back and win the series, but King James won’t let them get swept. Look for the Cavs to win a very close game 3, with LeBron leading the way. The Celtics will fall, but not by more than 6 points. Bet the Boston Celtics +6.5 against the Cavs in game 3.
