In their last game, New Mexico St defeated New Mexico 100-65. In that game, JoJo Zamorta led the way with 27 points. Next in line was Ivan Aurrecoechea who tallied 23 points along with 11 rebounds. The Aggies will need a lot more help from the supporting cast if they want to have a chance against the loaded Jayhawks.
The Kansas Jayhawks are coming off of a 72-47 victory against the Wofford Terriers. In that game, Dedric Lawson led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds. Devon Dotson chipped in with 16 points, and freshman Quentin Grimes added 14 points. This win came with a loss as center Udoka Azubuike went down with an ankle injury just four minutes into the game and is expected to miss this game.
Kansas Proving They Belong at the Top
The Aggies have been getting it done on the offensive end for the most part this season, as they are putting up 81 points per game so far. The defense has been solid as well, allowing just 68 points per game. The Aggies most notable win has come against the Washington St Cougars. With Azubuike out, the Aggies may be able to do enough inside to keep this game within striking distance.
The Kansas Jayhawks started the year out as the number one team in the nation. They were removed from the top spot when Duke came out with their impressive start to the season. However, Kansas has not faltered and are out to prove why they deserve to be the top team in the nation. Even though Azubuike us out, Kansas should have enough firepower to control this game. Look for transfer Dedric Lawson to control the inside game while Grimes, Dotson, and Marcus Garrett attack from the outside.

The Kansas Jayhawks come into this game as 14-point favorites. The New Mexico St Aggies are a known program and have enough talent to keep up with most teams in the country. However, Kansas is too talented and has too many offensive weapons for the Aggies. Even with Azubuike out, expect the Jayhawks to dominate this game from start to finish.
