The Pelicans are off to Milwaukee to face the Bucks on the second night of their back-to-back. They scored a win over the Pistons and will look to take out a central division opponent once again. And for Milwaukee, they’ve been playing much better of late, despite Jrue Holiday remaining out of the lineup.
A season ago, we gushed over Brandon Ingram and watched him play his way into the All-Star Game. He had a tremendous season, and he got all of the recognition he deserved, despite the Pels opening the campaign with a 6-21 record.
And this year, that has been Zion Williamson. This was the standard of play that was to be expected, but he has been incredible all season. Love watching him dominate.
And for the Bucks, they have an All-Star again, as Giannis Antetokounmpo is set to star in the game for the fifth year in a row. Unfortunately, though, Khris Middleton was among many snubs for the event. He is having a career year, yet after making it twice, the coaches didn’t think he warranted a spot. It’s hard to say if they got it right, but boy, were there a lot of undeserving guys who didn’t get the recognition.
ODDS:
The spread for this one favors the Bucks -9. The over/under is set at 243 points.
Pels Look to Stay Hot
There are so many great teams in the West this year, but with the addition of the play-in tournament for the final two spots, teams who would typically finish on the outside looking in will have an opportunity. New Orleans entered the bubble with a lot of hope, but things didn’t work out for several reasons, and they just looked horrible.
Finishing as the tenth seed this season would qualify a team to try and win a few games to get into the postseason. And while Utah or an LA team would be waiting, you’ve got to take a step forward at some point. And this has to be the year for the Pelicans. They’re seeking their third win in a row.
Bucks Aiming for 20th Win
Antetokounmpo didn’t win the last two MVPs by accident. And even though he has almost no chance of three-peating this year, he has been playing incredible basketball. The difference has been that the team isn’t winning as much, with several reasons coming to mind as to why. He has been on fire of late.
And awards or not, all that matters is that your star player is playing his best ball. He has been one of the top guys in the league for a long time and has reminded folks of this during the recent hot streak. His free-throw shooting is slowly but surely improving as he continues to hone his skills.
Jrue Holiday will miss the game against the franchise he spent seven years with as he continues to deal with health and safety protocol.
Bucks Win at Home
Milwaukee will pick up another win here, improving their record to 20-13.
