A battle of division leaders in the NFC, this matchup is going to be an intriguing one. By beating the Redskins in primetime last week, the Cowboys were able to move into first place in the NFC East.
New Orleans kept their firm hold atop the NFC South with their win, and a Panthers loss. This is also a rare case where two teams playing on Thursday Night Football, got a full week of rest, due to the fact they both played on Thanksgiving.

Saints:
Averaging 37 points per game, and winners of 10 games in a row, this team is on a historically impressive run. Drew Brees has been playing out of his mind, tossing touchdown passes to division III tight ends, and undrafted receivers. Last week, four players, all who did not get selected in the draft process in their year, caught Brees four touchdown passes. They have been at another level, and OC Pete Carmichael has combined his ideas with Sean Payton to get these perfect results.
Defensively, this team hasn’t struggled too much. They have a tremendous pass-rush led by Sheldon Rankins, who had a big week last week. He and Cameron Jordan have been terrorizing opposing quarterbacks. The defense has recorded 10 interceptions, and quite a few in late-game situations. In primetime once again, they look to keep the streak alive, and get to 11-1 on the year, following a week one loss to Tampa Bay.
Cowboys:
At 6-5, this team has won three weeks in a row, and usurped the Redskins atop the NFC East. Zeke has continued to eat large portions, while the offense is getting it done. They still rank #23 in points scored, but Amari Cooper has added an element they lost when Dez left after last season. They have the #3 ranked defense in points allowed this year, which has been a vital part of their success. They allow the fourth fewest rushing yards, and twelfth fewest passing yards on the year.
They are going to need a big game from Dak Prescott to have a chance in this one. He has played better of late, and his strong play has coincided with the team’s recent surge. The team started the year 3-5 before this surge, holding their opponents to an average of 21 points per game over these past three. Drew Brees is the QB they next have to stop, and even if they can force him to throw a single interception, they just might have a chance.
Saints leave D-Town with 11th straight win
Yeah, as nice as it might be for Dallas to get this huge win, it just won’t happen. And if that result holds and the Redskins beat the Eagles on MNF, it’s their lead again. If Philly wins, a three-way tie.
Getting back to it, Brees is going to go off tonight, and there is nothing Dallas can do about it.
