The Philadelphia Eagles host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday with kickoff at 4:25 p.m. EST.
For fans of one of the two teams playing, this will not be a fun time. New Orleans cannot be defeated right now, while Philly is unable to knock off any single team in their way. Jalen Hurts is coming in at quarterback with Carson Wentz now benched. And whether or not Taysom Hill is in, NO is still dominant.
Taking the Saints down is not a task you would wish upon anybody. And Philly will likely struggle with this as well. The defense has been unstoppable, as they have been steamrolling opponents left and right. They lack any weakness, so for Philly, we just wish them good luck.
Watching Hurts play QB will be a good time, having him finally get that first NFL shot. He has waited all year for this chance, and he looked pretty good in the final moments against Green Bay. Given what we’ve seen, anything is better than what they have been showing to this point in 2020.
We’ll see if the Eagles can surprise some folks this week. Unlikely, though.
ODDS:
The spread for Sunday’s game has the Saints serving as 8-point favorites. The over/under is set at 43.
NOLA Looking to Win Yet Again
Stopping the Saints has been pretty pointless, so nobody has even bothered. The D is playing at an all-time level right now, leading them to highs that they had yet to reach. There is no true weakness, all of the tight ends and receivers hauling in all of the targets coming their way. The passing game has done just enough to help them get by.
There is no weak link on defense, which has made playing offense practically futile for everybody else. They are allowing historically low point-totals right now and made sure the QB-less Broncos would be decimated when the teams met. They had no issues making sure that was how it went.
Alvin Kamara has turned into Christian McCaffrey this year. That’s been a cool development to watch. While Michael Thomas was out, he caught all of the throws he needed to. Impressive.
Philly Trying to Save the Season
With Washington and New York suddenly playing elite football, the year for Philly turned pretty quickly. They went from being in the race to being a rat left out in the cold pretty in the blink of an eye. And now, if they do not win every game, playoffs will just be a dream for them.
Jalen Hurts is ready to go, having sat on the bench all year. They used a second-round pick on him for a reason. And now that he’s here, the future is now. It’s hard not to feel bad for Wentz, but they had no choice with how poor he had been playing.
If the defense can find a way to hold New Orleans under 21 points, they might have a shot at the upset.
There Is No Upset Here
The Eagles will get crushed. The Saints will keep things rolling with the big win.
