It was a weird week in the NFC East, as the Cowboys lost, and the WFT and the Eagles won. The Giants will head to Tampa Bay for MNF to play the Bucs, as Tom Brady faces the team that has always had his number in big games. Two of his three Super Bowl losses came against them when Eli Manning was at the helm.
The good news for the G Men is that Saquon Barkley will be back in the lineup for them, looking to provide a burst out of the backfield. Devontae Booker did a tremendous job in his absence, as the other backs were unable to do during past seasons. They have dealt with injuries all over the place but do have a chance at playoff football. At 3-6, they need to go on a streak.
As for Tampa Bay, they will get some of their receivers back, so Brady will not be throwing to primarily backups. Mike Evans has been a TD machine with nine grabs, and Brady has averaged three of them per game, with 27 of them through the first nine contests. As long as he is able to stay healthy and avoid sacks (12 on the year), the team is going to be fine. Wins will return.
Let’s see what Daniel Jones has in store, as he has been a bit up-and-down this year.
Betting Odds & Lines
The spread for MNF is set at TB -10.5. The over/under is at 50 points. The TB moneyline is -510, while NYG is +390.
Giants Looking for Monumental Road Win
The Giants have not been too good this year, and not all of it is their fault. But now, they have a chance to take a game in primetime and show the league that they can still play hard. The rest of the year’s progress will likely determine if Dave Gettleman gets another year or is just simply fired.
He hasn’t done too much good, but he has gotten them some big-play receivers and did make a choice to draft Daniel Jones. The return of Saquon should add a boost to their run game.
They will need to spread the ball and apply as much pressure on Tom Brady as possible if they want to have a chance.
Bucs Look to Snap Streak
Only once has Tom Brady lost three games in a row. Across an NFL career now spanning its third decade, that is absolutely nuts. It was back in 2002 when it first/last happened, so they will look to make quick work of the Giants to snap the two-game drought.
Tom has been slinging the ball all over the field, taking a team that has a putrid defense to a 6-3 record. All three teams that have played this week in the NFC South have lost this week, so this is a chance for the Bucs to create a little breathing room.
Look for Evans and Chris Godwin to both go off.
Bucs Win Big
The Giants will not even come close, as the Bucs cover as 10.5-point favorites.
