Last week was not good for the New York Jets as they lost their franchise QB for several weeks, and their interim starter went down for the season. Luke Falk is now their main QB, and he has to try and lead the team serving as one of the biggest underdogs we have ever seen. This season is already looking to be irrelevant for the Jets after only two games, a move we really did not see coming. Can they play the Pats close?
New England, on the other hand, has not allowed many points through two weeks and look to be as good as ever. They are nearly at full health and have an endless array of receivers to throw to. With Antonio Brown no longer here, the distractions are officially behind them, and they can focus on Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon, the top two targets that are still around. Tom Brady is having fun on social media (2019 sure is a weird year) and is looking 10 years younger. New England is dangerous.
The spread for the contest favors the Pats by 22 points, with the over/under set at 43.5.
Jets Look To Get Out Of Hole
As bad as the Jets have been so far, they are in a position to watch things possibly get even worse. They have Falk taking over as starting QB after a strong finish from him to last week’s game. Now, he’ll be hoping to improve upon his impressive finish last week, but he’ll have to do it against the AFC’s top team. Le’Veon Bell seemed to be his security blanket and one that he felt the need to pull out a bit too often. Look for him to be more comfortable from the outset.
The Jets defense has made some nice plays through two weeks but has not been nearly good enough. The secondary will have to be better, and they need their best guys to have more positive attitudes.
Pats Try To Stay Dominant
As 22-point favorites, the Patriots have a chance to do some serious damage to their division foes at home. Brady has been exceptional thus far, while the defense has been on another level. They have not shown any weakness in any part of their game and hope to keep things going at a high level now. They only have to “worry” about the Bills within the division, but a few weeks from now, things could be different for the fellas in Buffalo. Look for them to mix the passing game up with a lot of different run schemes to try and keep the Jets on their toes.
Look for the defense of the Pats to be on its A-game from the start, as they try and make Falk as uncomfortable as humanly possible.
Patriots Obliterate Their Competition
Make sure that all wagers you make favor the team from New England. The Jets are going to have a hard time, folks. It will be a long day.
