A pair of Eastern Conference teams will mix it up on South Beach Tuesday. The New York Knicks are on the road at the Miami Heat. The Knicks are 44-30 on the season, and fourth in the Eastern Conference standings. The Knicks are coming off a one point loss at home to Oklahoma City on Sunday. It was their second straight loss.
For the Heat, they moved to 41-33 on the season with a 12 point win at Washington on Sunday. It was the second straight win for Miami. The Heat are 7th in the Eastern Conference, but start the week just ½ game behind Indiana. Miami is 6-4 over their last 10 games.
The Miami Heat are -3 at home. The total is 206.5.
Knicks Looking to Get Back on Track
The New York Knicks have back to back losses. The Knicks have not done a good job of defending, as the Spurs scored 130 and Oklahoma City went for 113 on Sunday. The last time the Knicks won a game was March 27th, when they scored 145 at Toronto.
In the loss, the Knicks saw Jalen Brunson go for 30 points and 7 assists. That is coming off a career game in San Antonio, where he scored 61 points. The former Villanova point guard has played in 69 of the teams 74 games, and leads the way with 27.9 per game. New York is looking for the return of Julius Randle, who has been out since January 27th.
The Knicks are at home on Thursday. After that, three of their final six games of the season are against the Chicago Bulls. New York is at Chicago, Milwaukee, Chicago and Boston, before finishing at home with the Nets and Bulls.
Heat Seeking Third Straight
The Miami Heat, who went to the NBA Finals a season ago hope they are starting to play their best basketball as April arrives. Miami has won back to back games, and three of their last four. The Heat beat Portland by 60 and Washington by 12 to finish March.
In the recent win over Washington, Terry Rozier was solid with 27 points. Bam Adebayo had a big game for the Heat with 22 points and 10 rebounds. On the season, Jimmy Butler leads the team with 21 points per game. Adebayo is second at 19.8, while Rozier, who has only played 27 games with the team is third, just shy of 17.
The Heat will remain at home on Thursday to host the 76ers. Following that, they are on the road for three straight games. They will make stops in Houston, Indianapolis and Atlanta, before hosting Dallas on April 10th.
Heat Shine over Knicks
Two playoff teams getting together here. The Heat are trying to get out of that 7th spot, and up so they can avoid the play-in game. New York could move up to third or down to fifth with their play late in the season. A big game for both teams. We like the way the Heat are playing right now. We will take Miami to win this game at home and make things interesting in the East. Our final bet for this game is the Miami Heat -3 over the New York Knicks on Tuesday. Enjoy the game and best of luck!
