The New York Yankees will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday Night Baseball for what’s expected to be the top game of the day. The Yankees are coming to this one after splitting a pair with the Dodgers in the first two games.
The Yankees sit in second place in the American League East as the Tampa Bay Rays continue to be one of the best teams in Major League Baseball as they sit at 41-19. New York is going to need to win tough games like this one against the Dodgers if they want to climb back.
This is also a big game for Los Angeles as they’re in second place in the National League West, which is something that has not been prevalent in the past few seasons.
Yankees Look To Win West Coast Series
When the Yankees are at their best, it’s typically what they’re doing on the offensive side of the baseball. With guys like Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres, Anthony Rizzo, Giancarlo Stanton, and others, this Yankees’ offense is arguably the best in Major League Baseball. It’s not going to be an easy task for them to win another game in Los Angeles, but they have all the makeup in the world to do just that.
Domingo German is going to be on the mound for New York and that could be decent news for them. He comes into this one throwing well throughout the past few seasons and could make a good impact for New York again in this game. Although his 3.98 ERA and 3-3 record aren’t too impressive this season, he’s typically one of the better middle-rotation guys in Major League Baseball and should be able to keep the Dodgers bats somewhat calm. If he gives up less than four runs, the Yankees need to find themselves in a position to win that game.
Dodgers In Second Place Now
The Los Angeles Dodgers have continued to be one of the best teams in baseball and that’s not going to change anytime soon. What they’ve done with their roster is build a team that can beat anybody in the league at any given moment. With a record of 35-24, the Dodgers would probably be a few games better if they didn’t have to deal with all of the injuries that they’ve dealt with throughout the year.
With Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, JD Martinez, and others, the Dodgers might have the one lineup in baseball that can go toe to toe with this star-studded Yankees lineup.
They’re going to be throwing rookie Bobby Miller and he’s thrown well to start his MLB career. The 24-year-old out of Illinois has started his career with a 2-0 record, 1.64 ERA, and a 0.91 WHIP.
New York Yankees at Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview Prediction
Due to this game being played in Los Angeles and the Dodgers having played well this season, taking them to win this game doesn’t seem to be a bad idea. They can get beat because of Bobby Miller getting the start and being young, but at -150 on the moneyline, the Dodgers still have value against New York.
