The New York Yankees will take on the Toronto Blue Jays for their fourth game of a four-game series in Toronto. The Yankees currently lead the series 2-1 as they look to continue building and moving up in the American League East standings.
At 25-20, the Yankees still sit in fourth place in the division. That’s mostly because of how tough the American League East has been this season, but if the Yankees can continue playing at this pace, they should find themselves in a good spot.
The Blue Jays also find themselves in a good spot as they’re clearly one of the top teams in at Major League Baseball. The question is going to be which team can beat each other when it matters most as all of these games are going to be huge at the end of the season. It’s tough to say that a game in the middle of May means anything, but between these two teams, it certainly does.
The Blue Jays are going to be coming in at -135 on the moneyline.
Can The Yankees Win The Series?
When looking at what the Yankees have done this season, it’s easy to see why people are still high on them this year. They’ve dealt with many injuries to some of their top guys, including Harrison Bader, Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Rodon, Luis Severino, and others.
Still, the Yankees find themselves five games over .500 and 7.5 games behind the first-place Tampa Bay Rays. Although it looks tough to catch Tampa Bay at this point of the year, there’s still a ton of time left and the Yankees just need to continue winning games against teams in their own division. Another win against the Blue Jays on Thursday could be huge for them down the stretch and that’s exactly what they’ll be thinking about here.
Nestor Cortes is going to be on the mound in this one as he comes in with a tough start to the season. The left-hander had an impressive 2.44 ERA in 2022, but now has a 5.83 ERA in just 42.1 Innings pitched.
Will The Blue Jays Even The Series?
The Toronto Blue Jays have also played well this season, despite some of the injuries that they’ve also had to deal with. Toronto comes into this one with one of the better records in all of baseball and would be in first place in multiple other divisions.
Still, they’ve had a few disappointing games against the Yankees throughout the first two games of this series and also struggled on Wednesday in their win. However, at the end of the day, they came away with a three-run walk-off win as Danny Jensen hit a walk-off home run.
They will need to continue playing at an elite level against this Yankees team if they want to find a way to win this game. The Yankees are going to come out and do everything they possibly can to get the win.
New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays Betting Pick Prediction
Although this game will be played in Toronto and Nestor Cortes hasn’t necessarily pitched well this season, getting the Yankees at plus money with the way they’re currently playing doesn’t seem like a bad idea here.
