Oakland Athletics at Seattle Mariners Betting Pick

The Oakland Athletics will take on the Seattle Mariners on Thursday for their fourth game of a four-game series. Oakland, as expected, hasn’t won one of these games yet. They’ve proven to be the worst team in baseball this year and it would make sense if they continue playing at a below-average level against a Mariners team that is starting to figure it out.

The Athletics come into this one with the worst record in all of baseball by a somewhat wide margin. They currently sit at 10-41, which is putting them on pace for one of the worst seasons in Major League Baseball history.

The sportsbooks believe that the Mariners are once again going to come away with the win as they come in at -240 on the moneyline.

Can Oakland Steal A Game?

When looking at what the Oakland Athletics have done this season, it’s easy to see why this team has been as bad as they currently are. Their owners did a terrible job throughout the past few offseasons of trading away some of their top players, and it’s resulted in Oakland being arguably the worst team that Major League Baseball has ever seen.

It’s been a disappointing last few years for their fans in Oakland, who deserve much more. However, that hasn’t been the case, and it’s a good time to bet against them as they’re typically a team that’s going to lose. Oakland’s currently 5-21 away from their home stadium, and that’s where they’re going to be playing on Thursday.

The Athletics haven’t been able to get much going in the first three games of this series, allowing more than six runs twice and only scoring five runs combined.

One thing about Oakland this season is that they have had games where they do come out and actually hit. Unfortunately, their arms simply haven’t been able to get anything going, and that results in them getting beat with relative ease.

Seattle Looks for The Sweep

The Seattle Mariners have also been somewhat disappointing this season, sitting at 25-24. After making the playoffs for the first time in a very long time a year ago, many were hoping that Seattle was finally starting to figure this thing out.

Although it’s too early to say that they haven’t figured things out, the start of the season for them has certainly been a disappointment. They’re going to have to be much better on both sides of the ball if they want to be the team that they’re looking to be this season as the American League West is once again going to be one of the top divisions in all of baseball.

This is the perfect opportunity for Seattle to get a sweep.
