It’s truly a sight to behold when a team 14 games over .500 can have their game easily predicted based on where the game is being played. Most playoff teams will sneak some big road wins into every season, but Philly is just 9-19 away from home and has not looked like the same team.
When at home, they’re 26-2 and as good as any other. And they beat this Bucks team before in 2019-20. But they will have their hands full this evening, so let’s see how they handle it.
Milwaukee, on the other hand, fears no team and seems to succeed no matter who they are facing off against. At 47-8, they are the best team in the league, and though they are unlikely to finish with the best record ever (barring a 29-game win streak to close the season), they are the clear top in the East.
In a conference loaded with strong teams at the top, they are the best. And in a tight MVP race, Giannis could be winning for the second year in a row based on his performances to date.
Milwaukee is an 8.5-point favorite tonight, as the over/under is set at 226.5.
Philly trying to snap road woes
Despite having a record of 24 games over .500 on their home floor, the success does not seem to follow them to other arenas. Whether it is the crowds or their guys’ routines changing too much, can’t be said. But it is clear that it’s a serious issue and they will have to win road games to advance even past the first-round in a conference featuring several elite teams right now.
They could end up playing Toronto, Boston or Miami, and none of those are cakewalks. They have lost to all two of those teams in the past two playoff trips.
They will need Embiid to lock in, and Tobias is going to have to work some magic on Giannis for them to truly have a shot in this one. They are hopeful of getting Ben Simmons back, his presence really missed.
Bucks looking to keep on, keepin’ on
Beating them has been tough for all teams this year, just 8 out of 55 coming in and successfully doing so. Giannis is putting up nearly 30-14-5 with 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per night, while only playing 30 minutes per game. The efficiency is just downright ridiculous.
But this is the player he has morphed into since coming into the league as a shy skinny kid from Greece. He puts up big numbers on offense while doing it all on the other side of the ball too. He has a great partner in crime in Khris Middleton, having an impressive year.
Their All-star duo will have to lead them tonight and should have no problems doing so.
Bucks Win Again
You cannot beat them. You can just hope not to get blown out by them. Another W for Milwaukee!
