After a full day of hoops in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the NBA kicks back off with a Tuesday night slate including a big matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Clippers.
This game will take place in Los Angeles, and it comes off the heels of the Sixers getting a win over the Lakers in the closing seconds on Sunday night.
With a questionable no-call on Joel Embiid grabbing Russell Westbrook’s arm, the 76ers will look to continue to pile up the wins in this Western Conference road trip.
The Clippers have experienced a number of different players in-and-out of games with injuries. Paul George has missed five straight games but went through a full practice on Monday and is questionable for this contest.
With the way Kawhi Leonard has been playing, they might not need him to be on the court yet. Even still, the 76ers draw the slight road favorite over the Clippers at -1.5.
A quiet MVP season Joel Embiid that no one is noticing
To be fair to all voters of the MVP award, Joel Embiid missed a long stretch early in the season. Not to mention, there are probably four or five other players who are having equally as good of seasons as Embiid is.
The 76ers are putting together what they need in order to keep moving forward. They have quietly risen back to the top four teams in the east, and their offense with James Harden running pick and roll with Embiid is nearly unstoppable.
To see the team coming together is a welcoming sight, as they are talented enough on both ends of the floor to get it done at the end of games.
Their other off-season additions have fared well, and they are overall a good team.
More life coming on from Kawhi Leonard
Newfound hope is happening for fans of the Clippers with the way Kawhi Leonard has looked as of late.
There are more than a couple of games in a row where Leonard looks like he did a few years ago before all of the injury concerns came about.
If Paul George returns for this game, the Clippers could make a huge statement over the 76ers.
The longer that both Leonard and George can actually stay on the court, the more likely this team gets a chance to gel the right way.
76ers @ Clippers Betting Prediction
In the rough and tumbling Western Conference, the Clippers are right in the middle of the pack and will need to keep their progression up with their players.
The 76ers are no slouch of an opponent, and finding a way to contain Joel Embiid on defense is going to be a huge challenge.
Harden and Embiid have been locked in as of late, and their combination is going to overwhelm the Clippers in a close game down the stretch. Take the 76ers on the road over the Clippers at -1.5.
