The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night in what’s expected to be one of the more lopsided NBA games of the night. Philadelphia has simply been a much better team this season, and although San Antonio has improved throughout the year a bit, this should be an easy way for the 76ers. They will be coming into this one at 33-17 and are the number three-ranked team in the Eastern Conference. San Antonio, on the other hand, is going to be coming into this one at 14-38 and currently in 14th place in the Western Conference.
Philadelphia is going to be coming into this one at -10 on the spread line.
Philadelphia Should Win with Ease
When looking at what the 76ers have done this season, this team might not be getting the type of respect that they deserve. Although the past few seasons have ended in playoff disappointments, which is the reason why Philadelphia doesn’t typically get the respect that they’re looking looking for, they look to be much better than they have been in the past few years. That’s because Joel Embiid and James Harden are truly playing at the highest level that they’ve played at in Philadelphia together.
Joel Embiid should be the front-runner for the Most Valuable Player unless Nikola Jokic is going to get his third award. James Harden has continued to put up massive numbers, including a 26-point, 10 assists, and nine rebound night against the Orlando Magic in their most recent game.
The 76ers will have to come out and take care of business as San Antonio isn’t necessarily going to just give them the game, but if there’s one game that Philadelphia is looking forward to this season and should have an easy win, it’s likely going to be this one.
How Will San Antonio Look?
The San Antonio Spurs have had one of the more disappointing seasons out of any team in the NBA, but that was expected. On top of that, it may even be on purpose. They’re expected to try to tank and get the number one pick, and if this is any indication, they’re doing a great job at that. There are still ways that this team can improve if they want to continue getting better and ready for their future, but as of now, they really can’t find a way to get much going.
They come into this one just 1-9 in their last 10 games and have even lost their last seven. Furthermore, they haven’t necessarily beaten a team this year that has been above average in quite some time, so it’s tough to say that they have any chance in this one.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. San Antonio Spurs Prediction
Because of how much better the Philadelphia 76ers have been than the San Antonio Spurs this season, it has to feel best to put money on the 76ers -10. It might not be a bad idea to wait about putting money on this game as there are going to be players that could potentially be out due to how easy of a win this should be for Philadelphia. If Joel Embiid and all of them play, they should be able to win the game by at least 10 points.
