The NFC East has not been too hot so far this year, with all of the team’s taking a loss early on. The Giants and Washington Football Team are both at 1-2. And the loser of this game between Dallas and Philly is going to fall into that same sad category.
This is a game that will have a lot of eyes on it and the battle of the two QB’s. Jalen Hurts has gotten off to a great start this year, while Dak Prescott has as well. They each have fans calling for them to get some early MVP votes with the wins hopeful to follow suit. Prescott led his team to an upset over the Chargers last week.
Philly, on the other hand, is still looking better compared to what they showed at the finality of 2020. They lost their last game in such an embarrassing manner that they fired their coach and opted to sort of start over. It is looking smart to this point, and the option to bench Wentz last year has Hurts looking more ready now as a result.
Let’s see who wants the game more and wins in primetime on Monday.
Betting Odds & Lines
Monday night’s spread is currently set at DAL -3.5. The over/under is sitting at 51.5 points. The DAL moneyline is -178, and the PHI moneyline is +150.
Philly Seeking Key Divisional Win
The inner-NFC East battles will determine so much over the course of the season. With six of 17 games being played within the division, Philly knows how important this game will be in the big picture. They need to come in and let the Cowboys crowd know that they came to turn some heads and anger those spectators.
Hurts has been slinging the ball well while also proving himself as a threat with his legs. There isn’t much he hasn’t been able to, as he has found chemistry with the receivers. DeVonta Smith is going to continue to improve while they establish the run game with Miles Sanders.
The defense will struggle more without Brandon Graham, but it’s the next man up. They are ready to go for this game.
Dallas Looking for Home Win
At 1-1 so far, the Cowboys have yet to fully find their stride. They lost a nail-biter to the Bucs on opening night before upending the Bolts last weekend. Now, they come in trying to find their first winning streak since late last season. With Dak at the helm, good things can happen.
He has shown himself to be the guy he was pre-injury in 2020. The fact he made such a fast recovery is tremendous and shows that if you put the work in, you can overcome anything. He has great receivers to toss it to and chemistry that is second to none.
They can only win, though, if their defense comes to play.
Cowboys Win
Dak will outduel Hurts, and the defense of the Cowboys will do just enough to guide them to the win.
