As Thursday Night Football returns for Week 4, we have a matchup with a lot riding on it. Philly has come off of consecutive playoff appearances but has begun the season 1-2 under Carson Wentz, so they absolutely have to win this game. If they fall to 1-3 in a highly competitive NFC, their playoff chances are going to take a serious hit. Wentz has not been as effective as Nick Foles was last year, and with the receivers hurting and O-Line struggling, this will be hard.
Green Bay, on the other hand, has not been as good the last few years, as Matt LaFleur has taken the reins here and led the team to a 3-0 beginning behind strong defensive play. The money they spent has played a big part in that, along with the offense doing its job when asked to. Two-way teams are the toughest to stop in the league, and when the Packers are able to lock in, they are very challenging to defeat. Watch out.
The Packers are listed as 4.5-point favorites tonight, while the over/under is set at 45.
Eagles Desperately Need A W
After its slow start to the year, Philly is trying to get back on track and catch up with the seemingly unstoppable Dallas Cowboys. Falling three games out after four weeks would doom them, and they cannot afford to take the loss. They are expected to get Alshon Jeffery back, but DeSean Jackson, who tore it up in Week 1, is far from a guarantee to play. Wentz has been solid with six touchdowns to two picks and 802 yards, but he’s been sacked seven times. And when he has gone down, it has been multiple times in succession, killing drives fast.
Their defense already has three picks on the year, but just two sacks. They have to bring pressure to Aaron Rodgers, who can avoid tacklers as well as any QB in the game. If they can put him on the ground, they could have a chance.
Packers Look To Keep Perfect Record
The Packers have been tough to stop as everything has gone well for these guys on both sides of the ball. Without having to score much in Week 1, they beat the Bears with 10 points and held their opponents to just three. After throwing just two picks all of last season, Rodgers has not yet thrown any through three weeks, and the impressive streak of accuracy has continued. He is yet to truly hit his stride, yet he has done exactly what the team has been needing.
They have 12 sacks and four picks through the first three weeks and will be looking to bolster all of those totals. It’s clear that they are a team to be reckoned with in 2019.
Packers Stay Perfect
Green Bay’s D will not be stopped, as they limit Wentz en route to victory.
