On Sunday Night, the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Rams in Los Angeles in a game that has massive playoff implications. The Eagles are 6-7 and are on the outside looking in for the second Wildcard spot and need a win here to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Rams come in at 11-2 and will have the upper hand for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win here.

Both Teams Looking for Redemption
The Eagles are coming off a heartbreaking 29-23 overtime loss in Dallas last week. The Eagles battled back from a one touchdown deficit twice in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter to tie in up and force overtime but never touched the ball as the Cowboys drove the field and won on an Amari Cooper touchdown off a deflected pass. The run game was non-existent as the Eagles ran the ball 10 times for a total of 37 yards. Carson Wentz shined in this game, going 22 for 32 for 228 yards and three touchdown passes. It looks like Wentz will be out with a back injury for this game, so it will be up to Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles to lead the Eagles against his former team.
The Rams are coming off their worst performance of the year, a 15-6 loss to the Chicago Bears last week. The Rams got absolutely nothing going on offense and it made you wonder how they have 11 wins on the year. Jared Goff was horrendous, completing just 20 of 44 passes for 180 yards and 4 interceptions. The play calling was also questionable, as MVP candidate Todd Gurley only saw 11 carries for 28 yards. The Rams will have to make some changes and will not be able to turn the ball over 4 times if they want to come out victorious against the Eagles.
Rams Show Off Offensive Power
Philadelphia has had a hangover season after winning the Super Bowl and have not put it together on either side of the ball this season. The offense is ranked 21st in the league in scoring with 21.6 a game and 19th in total yards with 353 a game. Going to backup quarterback Nick Foles will not help their cause. Foles went 54 for 82 for 451 yards and just one touchdown to go along with one interception in four games to start the season. The defense has helped out a little bit, holding teams to just 22.7 points a game but are 25th in yards allowed with 384 a game.
The Rams have been on offensive powerhouse this season and were held to under 30 points for just the third time this year against the Bears last week. They are 3rd in the NFL in scoring, putting up 32.7 points per game and are 3rd in total yards per game, going for 422.5 per. The defense has been in the bottom half of the league this season. They allow 24.1 points a game and 361.7 yards a game this season, which is 18th and 19th in the league, respectively. Everything changed offensively last week against a strong Chicago defense, but LA will look to bounce back against an average Eagles defense.
Rams vs. Eagles Prediction
The Rams come in as 13-point favorites. This is a large number to give up against the defending Super Bowl Champions. However, the Eagles will most likely be without quarterback Carson Wentz and will have trouble moving the ball with Nick Foles. Even though the Rams laid an egg last week, they are still one of the best teams in the NFL. Look for the offense to get back on track and score at will against a banged-up Eagles defense and win this game easily. Take the Rams -13. Monitor Wentz’s status leading up to the game, but the Rams should cover regardless of who is playing QB for Philadelphia.
