An important Monday night matchup in the Western Conference is heading our direction when the Phoenix Suns go on the road to take on the Golden State Warriors.
These two teams are looking to be strong contenders but are both in the middle of dealing with injuries to their roster and have not really been able to be at full strength all season.
As far as this season has gone, the Warriors have been in one of the most confusing states following their title win last season. At home, they are absolutely dominant like a champion should be, but on the road they have been unable to get over the hump.
Their road record is just plain bad, and they continue to drop games in clutch situations.
The Suns have been able to get by without Kevin Durant, but his presence is sorely missed and they will continue to have to fight to keep their standing within the conference.
It is shaping up to be an important game as we wind down the season, and the Golden State Warriors are favored at home over the Phoenix Suns at -4.
To win without Kevin Durant
Right now, the Suns are fighting for their lives to try and keep a home court advantage in the Western Conference for when Kevin Durant comes back in the first round.
Turning his ankle in warm-ups, Durant will be sidelined for an indefinite amount of time after looking sensational next to Devin Booker and company.
The team was able to pick up Terrence Ross in the buyout market, and he has been sharp to fill some of the gap that Durant has left behind.
Putting together wins moving forward is not going to be easy, but the Suns have the pedigree to get it done.
Begging for a fully healthy roster
At this point of the season, the Warriors would probably just like to see their team at full strength more than anything else.
They spent a large chunk of the season without Steph Curry in the lineup, but now they are sorely missing Andrew Wiggins and the stability he brings to their starting unit.
With or without Wiggins, they have to figure the situation with their road record, as it is one of the worst in the league down with the Houston Rockets.
If they can’t win on the road, they cannot be taken seriously as a real contender in the Western Conference.
Suns @ Warriors Betting Prediction
Two teams with some championship aspirations for the rest of the season will make this Monday night matchup one of the best of the entire week.
The Suns and the Warriors may or may not be standing when it is all said and done, and they might end up meeting each other in the postseason.
At home this season, the Warriors have been pretty much lights out. Their role players always play better at home, and they should have no trouble taking care of business against the Suns.
Take Golden State to win over Phoenix at -4.
