Pittsburgh is in dire need of a win as they travel to Wisconsin to face the Packers on Sunday. This features a rematch of the 2010 Super Bowl, the only one Aaron Rodgers has ever been to/won for his team. And Big Ben is still at the helm, for better or worse, for the Steelers.
Pitt is just 1-2 to open the year and is looking like they are a bit washed. The offense has been unable to get out of their own way, the passing game not quite doing what they expected. This is mostly the same core that had the team at 11-0 to begin last year. Najee Harris isn’t able to solve the running game conundrum all by himself as they had expected him to be able to.
As for GB, they have rebounded very nicely from the 38-3 Week 1 drubbing at the hands of the Saints. They were able to put together an incredible last-second drive against the 49ers last week to steal a win. This was their second in a row and put them right back on the winning track.
In this game, the better offense for the day is likely to win. And if Aaron has the ball at the end of the game, it’s just GG for the Steelers.
ODDS AND LINES:
Sunday’s spread is currently set at GB -6.5. The over/under is 45.5 points. The PIT moneyline is +242, while the GB moneyline is -300.
Steelers Seeking Move Back to .500
After a few losses in a row, the Steelers are looking to change their fortunes. The crazy thing is that they defeated the mighty Bills in week 1. But then they let the Raiders pick up 425 total yards of offense against them and win by nine. The run D is still top tier, but the secondary isn’t getting stops.
They have allowed just 159 yards on the ground through three games, so they should be able to slow Aaron Jones. But that’s not going to help the fact that the offense has three turnovers in the past two games.
Roethlisberger is going need to bring his best and not get sacked three more times. Time to figure it out.
Packers Seek Third Win in a Row
After consecutive victories, GB is looking to make it three in a row. They have dominated the regular season in each of the prior two years, so watching them rattle off win after win is not surprising. That is, as long as it’s not the postseason being discussed here.
Green Bay has talent all over the place. They have Davante Adams, one of the best receivers in the league. They have Robert “Bobby” Tonyan, who hauls in TD’s like it is nobody’s business. The other guys are pretty hit or miss but do their part as needed.
They don’t lack explosiveness, as they are out here seeking a win.
Packers Win
Pittsburgh really doesn’t stack up so well with them, and they will fall short.
