With the NFL season completely behind us, the focus has now shifted towards basketball for betting and the teams in the Western Conference are as jumbled up as they have been all season.
Two of them will face off against each other on Valentine’s Day, when the Sacramento Kings go on the road to take on the Phoenix Suns.
The Suns receive the award for making the biggest splash at the trade deadline, as they were able to pry Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for a few forwards and draft picks.
Now the favorite of the Western Conference, they will be host to one of the new and upcoming teams, the Sacramento Kings.
The Kings have been the apple of everyone’s eyes as they continue to hold and maintain their top spot in the conference. So many young players and savvy trades by the front office have led to this being their best season in years.
Despite the positives for Sacramento, the Suns are favored in this game on their home floor at -3.5.
A new threat arises in the Western Conference
For years, the Sacramento Kings were the butt of many jokes in the NBA. The incompetence of their front office made them easy candidates to poke fun at.
With the trade last year of Tyrese Haliburton, in addition to some excellent free agent signings, the Kings were left with a team that is cohesive and wants to play together.
Their roster has everything you would want, and depending on the night, a new reserve player goes off for them.
It has made them one of the most exciting watches in the NBA, and they will show no fear heading into Phoenix for this game.
Rebooting the franchise with Kevin Durant
The Suns were already one team that was in the running for the Western Conference this season, but now they are certainly amongst the conference leaders.
Adding Kevin Durant in place of Mikaal Bridges is completely unheard of, and they will even be able to fill some of the Cam Johnson minutes with the addition of T.J. Warren.
For now, all they can do is wait for everyone to be active and healthy. The offense will be explosive, and be one of the best shooting teams in the league.
In the meantime, Devin Booker seems to be fully healthy again, and managing Chris Paul will be key down the stretch.
Kings @ Suns Betting Prediction
As two of the better teams in the west, this game really feels like it has a chance to go in any direction. With that being the case, the Kings are getting some extra points here in this spread.
They have one of the few positive road records in the league, and that will serve them well against an undermanned Phoenix roster.
Booker and Paul will likely have strong games, but the Kings will be able to take care of business down the stretch. Take them on the road as the underdog at +3.5.
