There is a lot of pressure on the 49ers to turn it around this year, and with Jimmy Garoppolo healthy once again, they will have all the opportunities to try and right the ship. Kwon Alexander has apparently dubbed their crew of linebackers as the “Hot Boys,” so that is something you don’t see out of every team’s training camp. They have immense talent on both sides of the ball, and Kyle Shanahan needs to recover from blowing the Super Bowl in Atlanta with some achievements in his new city.
The Broncos, on the other hand, have most of their starters set. They are thinking about the playoffs, but they are also the clear-cut fourth team in their division, with the Chiefs and Chargers cemented in as the top two. The amount of talent added by the Raiders in the offseason makes them the third-best team in the division, which only leaves Denver at the bottom. They will have plenty of chances to win games, but it will be a tough year in the AFC West.
The spread for Monday night’s game favors the Broncos by 1.5 points (DEN -1.5), and the over/under is set at 41.
49ers Trying To Find Some Rhythm
Nick Mullens took the majority of the QB reps in the opening preseason game and will likely be getting something similar in this one. He proved himself to be a legitimate NFL QB with his performance following two quarterback injuries in 2018. Behind him, they have CJ Beathard and Wilton Speight. The RB position is going to be a battle until the season kicks off, with Jerick McKinnon trying to reclaim the spot he forfeited thanks to injury a year ago. He will battle with Tevin Coleman, Raheem Mostert, and Austin Walter.
This 49ers team made some fantastic additions, including the aforementioned Coleman, Dee Ford, Malcolm Smith, and keeping Robbie Gould with a “lucrative” contract. They mean business in San Francisco.
Broncos Looking For Their Mojo
We will likely see a few drives with Joe Flacco leading the way before they turn to Drew Lock and Kevin Hogan. Flacco showed the world in Baltimore that he could take a team all the way, helping them to win a title. They are talented at the running back position with the combo of Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, who will be competing for carries all year long. They are relatively young at the wide receiver spots but should have enough talent surrounding Flacco to get it done.
They still have Von Miller and Chris Harris on the defense, which is very changed around them. Ed Donatell will be leading the defense under first-year, first-time head coach Vic Fangio.
49ers Come Away With Win
Make sure that all bets you make go for the 49ers. They will be winning this contest. They will send the Broncos home with a loss.
