The Monday Night Football matchup will be between the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles.
Seattle picked up a much-needed win against Arizona last week to snap a multi-game losing skid. And now Philadelphia will hope to do the same at home against this Seattle team. The first-place spot within their division will disappear if they fail to win yet again. Philly is going to have to do something to win.
Seattle is locked in a very tough race in the NFC West. The Rams and Cardinals have proven themselves as strong teams, so it is not a cakewalk for these Seahawks to win the division.
They have had great success since Pete Carroll took over, with no losing seasons on the resume. Two more wins and they’ll have another campaign with more wins than losses.
Philly is in desperate need of a victory, as the losses have been mounting. Carson Wentz not only leads the league in interceptions thrown but fumbles too.
Whenever pressure comes, he tends to panic and tries to do too much. In any other division, the Eagles season would already be over. They are extremely fortunate in 2020.
ODDS:
The visiting Seahawks are slated as six-point favorites. The over/under is set at 49.
Seattle Aiming For 8-3 Mark
Things have gone well to this point in the year for Seattle, and a good performance here could really improve their odds of winning a tight race in the NFC West. It has not been a simple year for them, with injuries at the RB spot decimating them in a big way. But, they are finally expected to get their top gun in Chris Carson back.
Russell Wilson has been throwing TD passes at a career-high rate, and he is likely to toss 3-4 more in this game. Given how things have played out thus far, it would come as no shock. Crazy finishes tend to be the norm for them in crunch time, so the more points they can score, the better.
It will take 30-35 points for Seattle to win. The Eagles’ offense is surprisingly solid at times.
Eagles Looking for Major Win
If apple turnovers are your favorite dessert, then Wentz is your hero. All the Eagles do is give the ball to their opponents.
They have had various injuries to key receivers, so the chemistry hasn’t exactly been there between Wentz and the guys he throws it to.
The return of Miles Sanders hasn’t given them much of a lift, as the team played a bit better when Boston Scott was the top back. It’s surprising, but the team has been cursed with bad luck. Doug Pederson is adamant in letting Wentz play through his struggles, but it’s worth remembering that the team drafted Jalen Hurts in round two.
At 3-6-1, Philly has underachieved massively. But a win here would keep them atop the NFC East for another week.
Seahawks Win Big
The game will start close, but the Seahawks will pull away in the second half.
