Seattle is headed on the road for a game with the Washington Football team, with a loss likely to prove deadly both ways. The Seahawks have gone just 3-7 and have not looked any better since Russell Wilson returned to their lineup. And as for the WFT, they could pull to within just two games of the division lead with dub and into a tie for the final Wild Card spot.
A lot has gone wrong for the Seahawks, and it would appear that a coaching change may finally happen at the end of the year. Fans have been clambering about it for a long time, and it may now come to fruition, regular-season success just not following the team in 2021. There really are not many good things to be said about this team.
On the other side, a once 2-6 unit has found new life by winning their last two games. Washington has come out of its shell and has remembered once more how to score points. They have figured things out in the run game, while Taylor Heinicke has been slinging the ball all over the field. The loss of Chase Young was not enough to stunt their improved D.
They both need a win here, so this game will prove to be highly competitive – no doubt about that.
Betting Odds & Lines
Monday night’s spread is set at WFT -1. The over/under is sitting at 46.5 points. The SEA moneyline is -108, while Washington is -110. A toss-up, pretty much.
Seahawks Try to Find Mojo
Winning the NFC West is impossible at this point, as Seattle is 5.5 games behind the Cardinals. But, a win here could push them within a game of the Vikings and the final spot for the Wild Card. It is a spot that would mean a hard first-round game but a playoff trip nonetheless. And a long winning streak could form with just one win.
Seattle should follow the Dolphins blueprint. Sure, they got off to a horrid start, but that team has won four in a row to now improve to 5-7, a little hope still to be had. The Seahawks have no reason to tank, having already traded their pick.
Russ needs to lock-in. The D has to be better. Make it happen. Win one.
WFT Aims for Three Straight
While Seattle comes in cold, the WFT comes in hot and ready to roll. Heinicke has been playing some very good football, while the trio of rushers has been going to work in the backfield, churning out yards just when the team really needs them.
Terry McLaurin leads a decent group of wideouts, with Logan Thomas starting to practice again, trying to come back and beef up the TE room. Their D has been coming up with some big plays and will try and keep it going against a still-dangerous club.
Washington Wins Third in a Row
Sorry Seahawks, but it’s done. It’s over for the year. WFT will get the win in a very sloppy game.
