The Thursday Night Football game for Week 8 features the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road at the Buffalo Bills. Both teams come into the game fresh off a loss in Week 7.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3-3 on the season but coming off a last-second loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The Buccaneers are second in the NFC South.
For the Buffalo Bills, it’s been a frustrating start, as they are 4-3 on the season and second in the AFC East. The Bills are coming off a late loss on the road at the Patriots on Sunday. The Buffalo Bills are favorites in this game. Philadelphia is listed at -7.5.
Bills Looking to Get Back on Track
The Buffalo Bills lost to the Jets to start the season and then won three in a row. They then lost in London to the Jaguars and came back and beat the Giants before the loss to New England.
Now, the Bills will look to get back on track, as they have this game and then a trip to Cincinnati on Sunday Night Football before back-to-back home games against the Broncos and Jets.
The Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns but threw a bad interception and could not keep several drives going; James Cook led the attack on the ground with 56 rushing yards. He is now over 400 on the season.
Stefon Diggs is the top receiver for the Bills, as he is just shy of 700 yards on the season. Buffalo is third in the league in offense, with right around 28 points per game.
Buccaneers In NFC South Battle
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers know it is going to be a big-time fight in the divisional race. The Buccaneers are trailing Atlanta but just ½ game ahead of New Orleans. Remember, the winner of the division a season ago went 8-9.
Tampa Bay won their first two games of the season at Minnesota and at home against the Bears before a loss to the Eagles. After beating the Saints, the Buccaneers are now coming off losses to the Lions and Falcons.
The Buccaneers have struggled to score all season long. Tampa Bay came into the game against Atlanta 25th in team offense, with 17.2 points per game. Their 13 in the loss will not help that. The run game has been poor all season, as they are one of the worst in the league. The Buccaneers are averaging around 75 yards per game on the ground.
Mike Evans continues to put up solid numbers as one of the lead receivers. Evans scored a touchdown in the loss and finished with six receptions and 82 yards. He is now over 450 yards on the season with five touchdowns.
Buffalo Back on Track with Win
The Buffalo Bills are set to get back on track. This is a game that will get them there. Buffalo has just struggled, and they need to get things going. Josh Allen needs to limit the turnovers and move the ball a little more efficiently.
Tampa Bay is a team that has had some good results early, but in the end, they are not a super-talented team from top to bottom. A short week and a tough trip up north, the Buccaneers are in trouble.
Bet the Buffalo Bills -7.5 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football.
