On Saturday night, the Tampa Bay Rays will take on the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The Rays won the first meeting on Friday night 5-1. This is the 2nd game of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday. The Rays are 38-23 on the year while the Red Sox are 33-30.

Rays Looking to Keep Pitching Strong
Yonny Chirinos got the start and was the winning pitcher for Tampa Bay on Friday. He was stellar and went 8 innings allowing no runs on just 2 hits and 2 walks and struck out 6. He had a perfect game heading into the 6. Emilio Pagan came in for the final inning and gave up 1 run on 2 hits. Kevin Kiermaier was the leader on offense for the Rays, going 3 for 4 with a solo home run and drove in 4 runs. Ji Man Choi also hit a solo home run and went 2 for 4. Avisail Garcia went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and Brandon Lowe went 2 for 4 with a double.
The Rays will likely use an opener in this game which is when a bullpen pitcher starts and goes 1 or 2 innings then gives way to someone else who goes about 4 or 5 innings. They only used 1 guy out of the bullpen on Friday night so they should have plenty of arms for this one. I assume Jalen Beeks will be the long man in this one as he has not pitched for a couple of days and he has been great this year. He has a 5-0 record with a 2.76 ERA and a 45/16 strikeout to walk ratio. A few rays players have experience against Price. Avisail Garcia is 4 for 13 with a home run and Kevin Kiermaier is 3 for 11 with a home run. Mike Zunino also has a home run but is just 2 for 13.
Price Tossing for Boston
David Price will be on the bump for the Red Sox in this one. He is 3-2 with a 2.83 ERA in 10 starts this season. He has a 1.04 WHIP and 59 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched. He is coming off a great start at Yankee Stadium his last time out where he allowed just 2 runs on 6 hits and a walk in 6 1/3 innings. None of the Red Sox hitters have much experience against all the bullpen arms of Tampa Bay as they are all pretty young.
Rick Porcello struggled a little bit for Boston in this one. He went 6 innings allowing 4 runs on 8 hits and a walk while striking out 4. The bullpen came in and gave up just 1 run on 2 hits and no walks while striking out 5 in 3 innings of work. The offense was terrible for the Red Sox in this one as they managed just 4 hits in the game. Xander Bogaerts was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Andrew Benintendi went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Jackie Bradley Jr recorded the other single for the Red Sox in this one while Mookie Betts and Brock Holt each drew a walk.
Red Sox Top Rays
I do not see a line on this but I would say the Red Sox will be around -140 or so. David Price has had a really good year so far and has pitched well in his last 2 outings coming back from injury. I think he will keep his momentum going in this one and shut down the Rays. The Boston bats will wake up and get to the bullpen early and often. Take the Red Sox on Saturday.
