Big Ten Basketball: Wisconsin Badgers at Michigan State Spartans

Big Ten Basketball on Friday night – as the Michigan State Spartans take on the Wisconsin Badgers in East Lansing. The Spartans are ranked 6th in the nation, and are third in the Big Ten. Michigan State is 18-3 on the season, and 6-2 in Big Ten play. Michigan State trails the Ohio State Buckeyes and Purdue Boilermakers.  The Spartans are coming off back to back wins over Indiana and Illinois.

The Wisconsin Badgers are having a really tough season under head coach Greg Gard. The Badgers are 10-11 on the season and 3-5 in Big Ten play. The Badgers are tied with Penn State for 9th in the Big Ten. Wisconsin is coming off a road loss at Iowa, and have dropped four out of five games. The Michigan State Spartans are -16 over the Wisconsin Badgers on Friday night.

Spartans Seek Blow Out Win

The favorites out of the Big Ten – the Michigan State Spartans have already dropped two league games this season, and  head coach Tom Izzo is done with the losses. Michigan State is known as one of the top teams in all of College Basketball. The three losses for the Spartans this season came to Duke, on the road at Ohio State and the 10 point loss at home to Michigan.

The Spartans are ranked 16th in the nation with more than 85 points per game. The Spartans are also one of the top passing teams in the league, as they lead the country with 21 assists per game. As always, the Spartans are a top rebounding team, as they are grabbing more than 42 rebounds per game. Michigan State is led in scoring by Miles Bridges. Bridges is scoring more than 17 points per game.

Wisconsin Under .500

The Wisconsin Badgers are having a tough time finding any success this season. Wisconsin went 8-7 before Big Ten play started. In conference season, the Badgers have wins over Penn State, Indiana and Illinois. The Badgers are one of the worst scoring teams in all of College Basketball with 68.3 points per game. The Wisconsin defense is still 37th, but allowing 65.8 points per game.

Ethan Happ is the top scorer for Wisconsin. Happ is playing nearly 30 minutes per game, and scoring 17 points per game. Him and Brad Davison are the only players for Wisconsin scoring double digits per game. The Badgers have home games against Nebraska and Northwestern coming up next before road games at Maryland and Illinois.

Michigan State Wins with Ease

The Michigan State Spartans are going to blowout the Wisconsin Badgers. Michigan State is bigger, faster, stronger and tougher than the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin is likely not going to be a tournament team this season, and snap their long streak. Look for Michigan State to get the basketball inside and run the Badgers out of the gym.
