The Toronto Blue Jays will travel to Boston on Thursday for their fourth game of a four-game set against the Red Sox.
Boston has dominated this series thus far, currently holding a 3-0 series lead in this series. If the Red Sox find a way to win this game, they’re going to find themselves in third place in the American League East ahead of the Blue Jays.
With the American League East being the best division in baseball, all of these games count, and both teams realize that.
Kevin Gausman will be on the mound for Toronto, and that should mean that they come away with the win. He’s been one of the top pitchers in baseball against the Red Sox throughout his career and should find a way to get this struggling Blue Jays team back on track. The sportsbooks also agree with that, as they come in at -165 on the moneyline.
Kevin Gausman Needs to Throw Well
Although Toronto hasn’t played well in this series, they’ve been one of the better teams in the American League East besides these three games. Coming into this series, they were eight games above .500 and had a real chance of catching the Tampa Bay Rays in the upcoming weeks if they could’ve taken care of business.
However, Toronto wasn’t able to get much done in the first three games, and it’s been a somewhat call for concern.
Although they lost two one-run ball games, losing three times in a row to the Red Sox by a team like the Blue Jays is always going to be looked at as a disappointment.
Boston isn’t necessarily as good as they typically are, which is the perfect time for Toronto to take advantage of their situation and get some wins.
Still, they should find a way to get back on track in game 4 and hopefully start figuring things out in the near future.
The Blue Jays are going to have the mound advantage in this one as Kevin Gausman has pitched well against the Red Sox in the past. He’s held hitters to below a .250 average, a 226 xBA, and an average exit velocity below 90 MPH.
Can The Red Sox Sweep?
The Boston Red Sox are playing much better than many anticipated coming into the season, and it’s been impressive to watch. They’ve now won seven of their last 10 games and have done so because of what their offense has been able to do. They’ve scored at least six runs in each of their last five games, and if that offense can continue doing what they’ve been able to do, they will be much better than predicted coming into the season.
This will be their toughest task yet in terms of the series, as Kevin Gausman is going to be on his A-game. If Boston can find ways to score runs against him, they will find themselves in a good position to win this game.
Toronto Blue Jays at Boston Red Sox Betting Pick Prediction
With the Blue Jays losing three games in a row, it would make sense if they find a way to get back on track. Because of that, taking them on the moneyline or the run line seems to be a good play here.
