After a grueling matchup on last week’s edition of Thursday Night Football, the schedule is providing another matchup that is questionable at best.
Thursday night, we will get a chance to see the Washington Commanders go on the road to the Windy City and take on the Chicago Bears.
These two teams are towards the bottom of the pack in their division and in the NFC. A quarterback battle between Carson Wentz and Justin Fields might be providing a battle of turnovers.
Both of the defenses present in this game are mostly sound, and Chicago is in the top quarter of the league in turnovers forced.
It would be surprising if this game finds a way to underscore the contest between the Broncos and Colts from Week 5.
With both of these teams at a questionable state with their rosters and production, the line is currently set at a pick ‘em before the kickoff Thursday night.
Is the magic of Carson Wentz officially dead?
Even after a season last year where the Colts missed the playoffs in the final weeks, it could still be argued that Carson Wentz at least put up some decent numbers, if nothing else.
Those days seem like they are long gone, and after a win over the Jaguars, the Commanders have been winless and don’t seem to be fighting for any potential seeding any time soon.
It really is a shame, but they do have as good of a chance as any to get a win in this matchup against the Bears.
Their receiving core is strong, and we will see more of Brian Robinson after his return from being shot.
Bears’ fans are desperately asking the question: does Justin Fields have what it takes?
While it is very premature to make any judgments on the development of Justin Fields in year two of his career, the Bears do not look like a strong offense.
His throwing has been weak, and sure his receiving core is among the worst in the league, but at some point he is going to have to find a way to get the ball downfield.
Their defense and their rushing attack does have the chance to carry them through to some victories, but they are going to need more to put together any sort of consistency.
Commanders @ Bears Betting Prediction
To say it might be a rough game on Thursday night might be underselling the matchup that is on our hands.
These two teams have been on a streak of rough seasons and have been unable to put together any sort of success for their franchise.
With so many moving parts on both rosters and in the front office, the verdict being a pick ‘em is accurate in this case.
With all things being equal, take the Bears on their home turf and count on a few forced turnovers from their defense to carry the load.
