We should have one of the more interesting games of the night this Friday as the Miami Heat will be taking on the Washington Wizards. Although it’s not 100% certain who’s going to be playing for both sides, this game does still mean something for Miami and that should mean that they’re going to be playing most of their top guys.
Miami still has an outside chance of getting the #6 seed if they can win these next two games and the Brooklyn Nets do lose one of them.
There’s a chance that the Heat should be playing all of their key players on Friday and that’s exactly what we need if we want to bet on them. There’s a reason why the sportsbooks currently have them as a 6-point favorite in Washington after a back-to-back.
Will Miami Rest Anyone?
The Miami Heat have probably had one of the more interesting seasons out of any team in the NBA this season. This has typically been an organization that competes with the best of them in the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA throughout the year.
However, this season for the Heat has been nothing short of a major disappointment. They have games where they prove that they can beat anybody in basketball, and others where they simply can’t get anything going. Because of that, Miami sits at just 43-37 and currently has the seven seed in the Eastern Conference.
This is still a team that can make a deep playoff run if things do go their way, but they’re going to need most of their guys to step up. Of those guys, Jimmy Butler is going to have to be the top player for them day in and day out. He was able to control the game against the Philadelphia 76ers in their 28-point win on Thursday night, so expect him to do similar things on Friday.
If Miami does lose this game, they will be locked into the #7 seed and will have to play a play-in game to get into the actual postseason. As everybody knows, this is one of the last things that any team in the NBA wants as anything can happen in these one or two-game series that they could potentially have to play.
Washington Should be Playing Reserves
The Washington Wizards have essentially decided that their season is over as they’ve been sitting Bradley Beal, and many others throughout the past few games. Given the fact that Washington hasn’t been in a playoff spot throughout the past few weeks, it makes sense from their perspective. They come into this one at 34-46 and have been playing below-average basketball in the last 10, winning just two of those 10 games.
If they can come out and find a way to slow down the Miami Heat on the offensive side of the basketball and can score on that tough Miami defense, perhaps they have a chance with some of their backups. However, that doesn’t seem like that’s going to be the case on Friday night.
Washington Wizards vs Miami Heat Betting Preview Prediction
With this one being a must-win game for Miami, taking them -6 doesn’t seem like a bad idea for this play. Miami is clearly the better team and has much more to play for.
