The Cleveland Indians visit Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago to take on the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night. This will be a matchup of two teams on nearly opposite sides of the same division. The Indians are 35-30 so far this year, good enough for first place in the American League Central division. The White Sox, however, are 23-43 after beating the Indians last night. They are looking to once again win a series against a division leading team after taking two of three from the Brewers and the Red Sox. To do that, they will need to take this game and an afternoon game on Thursday.
Dylan Covey will take the mound for the White Sox. He made himself notable on the national stage after out dueling Chris Sale in a victory against the Red Sox last week. He showed an ability to throw the ball for strikes while also maintaining the sink of his fastball. He will have to continue to do so to best the Indians. He is 2-1 on the year, with a 2.22 ERA.
Trevor Bauer will get the nod for Cleveland. He is 5-4 so far this year, and has a 2.62 ERA. Both pitchers will look to improve to 2 games over .500. Cleveland is favored in this matchup at -180.

Cleveland Indians
Erik Gonzalez has been hitting the ball well for Cleveland. His average is .340 so far this year through 53 at-bats. He has also driven in 12 runs and gone yard once. Cleveland will need him to have good plate discipline against the sinker-baller Covey.
Michael Brantley has been leading the way in stats for Cleveland. He is hitting .316 on the year while batting in 40 runs. He has also hit 11 home runs. He has been good for Cleveland for a long time, and they will be counting on him tonight.
Chicago White Sox
Jose Abreu is a doubles machine for the White Sox. He is second in the league in doubles, with 25. He is hitting .286 overall. He has also driven in 38 runs, and hit 10 home runs. Yolmer Sanchez has also been having a breakout year, hitting .271 and driving in 28 runs. He also has 4 home runs. If these guys continue to hit well and the Sox get contributions from guys like Yoan Moncada and Matt Davidson, they could very well walk away with game 3. It will also require a good performance from Covey.
White Sox Continue Hot Streak, Top Indians
Dylan Covey will be the story of tonight’s game. After out dueling arguably the best pitcher in baseball in his last outing, nobody will expect him to be quite that good. However, if the Sox can give him some run support, he should be able to get the victory. Look for him to get ahead in the count and throw his sinker for swings and misses.
