This team also played terrific defense against the United States, and they know how to take care of the ball. Goalkeeper Karen Bardsley has allowed just one goal while making 14 saves so far in this tournament.
England has one of the best players in the world on their side, and she has been tremendous throughout this tournament run. Ellen White has scored six goals to lead the England team, and she will be watched closely by Sweden. Steph Houghton missed the penalty kick against the United States, but she is extremely talented as well. England has scored goals throughout this tournament and can do it again.
England Wins Third-Place Match
This should be one of the best soccer matches of the entire tournament, and these teams are extremely similar. Neither of them has been easy to score on in the World Cup, but they also haven’t done much scoring themselves. Sweden will keep this game close, but a late goal from England will be the difference.
