Poker players have arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada and are highly anticipating the start of the 47th Annual World Series of Poker. Today is the first day of the series, though the first of 69 events on the series schedule will begin tomorrow. Today is the day when players will begin to settle in, taking part in cash games in the Pavilion Room or participating in single-table satellites which will provide seating to several WSOP tournament events at a lower price.
Daily Deepstacks will also begin today with players posting affordable buy-ins to compete in multi-table events that will span just one day. The standard poker tournaments are a great way to get in on the action before the start of the WSOP. The Daily Deepstacks include a $135, $185 and $235 buy-in event with a no limit hold’em format.
Starting tomorrow, players will be able to take part in the WSOP action with the first event, as always, set aside for casino employees. The $565 Casino Employees No Limit Hold’em Event will kick off the series with Mega Satellites also taking place starting tomorrow. The satellites will be a turbo, no limit hold’em format and have a buy-in of $185. Players will be given a tournament entry worth $1,500 for a win plus $100 for every ten players who register to compete, for the win.
By Thursday, players will find Colossus II on the schedule with the two starting flights taking place. This event is going to be a big one as players are competing for a minimum of $7 million in prize money with the winner taking home no less than $1 million! All the action begins this week and we will be highlighting the best of the best in the major events of the 2016 World Series of Poker. Stay tuned!
